HOW WE BROUGHT JOY TO 10 MILLION CZECHS WITH THE SONG "není nutno"
HOW WE BROUGHT JOY TO 10 MILLION CZECHS WITH THE SONG "není nutno"
We are anxious. We have masks over our mouths, we look out our windows and we don't know what tomorrow will bring. Even though we are capable of fighting over discounted cauliflower, in the most difficult moments we ALWAYS come together and show solidarity that is envied by the whole world. The Velvet Revolution, Nagano, A Million Moments for Democracy, remember? That's us, the Czech people.
CHALLENGE
We wanted to thank all the store clerks, doctors, nurses, postmen, drivers and one another for the consideration. We wanted to give ourselves a bit of courage, because life´s worth living if it can be put in song (but that's another song).
SOLUTION
Thanks to this idea, we were able to unite the whole of the Czech Republic in just a few days on 25 March 2020, at exactly 12:30, with an everyday children's song, which we sang together for those who put their necks on the line for us every day in the fight against the new type of coronavirus.
EVERYTHING STARTED WITH A PHONE CALL WITH MY STEPMOTHER
"The first impetus to do the song was a phone call with my stepmother, a nurse who volunteered for a frantic ride in an ambulance. I realized that all these people on the front line got into a terrible situation. On the one hand, it is due to the inability of the system to help them effectively, on the other hand, it is due to the hysteria and selfishness of the population at risk,” says Petr Hanousek.

WE HAVE TWO DAYS LEFT
The media already wrote about us on Monday. The servers Lidovky.cz, iDnes, Deník, Metro, Evropa 2, Frekvence 1, Právo and ČTK and many others informed the public that we will all be singing together with Zdeněk Svěrák on Wednesday. The live broadcast was confirmed to us by Česká televize, Český rozhlas, Evropa 2, Frekvence 1, Radio Z, Youradio, Rádio Blaník, municipal and local radio stations, supermarkets and petrol stations.
